SUFFERIN' SUCCOTASH

PETER "TRIP" HENDERSON, The Big Apple's "Merry Monarch of the Mouth Harp," is a much in-demand master of the harmonica. He has shared the stage with many major artists, including: Bo Diddley, B. B. King, Honey Boy Edwards, Otis Rush, John Herald, Hazel Dickens, John Sebastian and "The Boss" himself, Bruce Springsteen, to name but a few.

Trip regularly performs with an amazing variety of different bluegrass, blues, and old-time music groups throughout the Tri-State area. He leads the Brooklyn Corn Dodgers, a New York old-time country band which features two harmonicas as the main melody instruments, following in the tradition of The Crook Brothers Band, early stars of the Grand Ole Opry. Trip is also a member of The Lucky Dogs, a new early blues/ Southern roots music band with Bob Guida, Pat Conte, Steve Uhrik, Peter Kohman and Shlomo Pestcoe

In 2001, Trip had the rare honor of performing "Amazing Grace" on the stage of Radio City Music Hall in a historic duet with the world's largest Wurlitzer Organ to open the film premier of The Face: 2000 Years of Jesus in Art. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first time in history that a harmonica was paired with Radio City's gargantuan Wurlitzer.

For his "day gig," Trip is Special Events Coordinator for Thirteen WNET New York.
